Special Encore Appearance: PAWS Chicago

Ho, Ho, Ho, Happy Holidays!!
Did you miss me last weekend on the Sid-athon? Well, you are in luck, my friends! Come to PAWS Chicago this Saturday for my special encore appearance!

I've had a week to rest up and reflect upon last weekends events. It was a mad ride, wasn't it?
I would like to share with you a few more photos of where I crashed between gigs and introduce you to my host hounds:

You've met my sidekick, Romeo, and to my left is the sassy Alley-gator. Alley was too cool for me, so this is the only picture I have of her.

Romeo was much nicer and invited me into his corner to play with all of his toys until bedtime.

We even got to eat our snacks in Romeo's corner. Romeo has an interesting way of eating.

Personally, I prefer to eat like a regular Greyhound, lying down in a bed!

It was a long day with all the meeting and greeting and parties and playing and walkies. Even Romeo was tired, so time for bed.

After being tucked in, I fell asleep fast and had wonderful dreams of my forever home.

After a good night's sleep and a gourmet breakfast of chicken, sweet potatoes and kibble, I sat down to chat with Romeo.

"Why don't you come on the tour with me today, Romeo. You could be my new sidekick!"

Romeo was so excited by my invitation that he could barely contain himself. He immediately accepted my offer, "But only if Alley stays here!"

Fortunately, I have had a week to rest up, and I plan on scaling back my schedule this weekend, so only one appearance at PAWS Chicago.
I still want to be home for the holidays, so please consider welcoming me into your home. If I'm not the right hound for you, I have plenty of other friends that you might like, and you can meet some of them at PAWS.

See you at PAWS!

Final stop of the Sid-athon: Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights Petsmart Christmas Meet & Greet, the final stop of the day for the Sid-athon.

As soon as we arrived at the last M&G, Romeo didn't waste any time. He set his sights on my deer old friend Amy and moved right in. I can't blame him, Amy is adorable. I didn't want to hurt Romeo's feelings, but Amy likes me better!

While Romeo made his way around the crowd, I went over and introduced myself to Amy's sister Lily and their mother Tara, who is resting to my left. After meeting their mother, I understand where Amy and Lily get their looks!

Lily and I had a fabulous conversation, and she taught me that the key to successful fundraising is all in the eyes.

I decided to give the eye thing a try and worked my way around the crowd gathering donations.

I heard someone calling my name. It was Sam. "Sid, check it out," he said, "it's a wolf!!"

I almost fainted when I saw this giant creature. He looked like he was going to eat me!

"Don't worry, Sid," said Sounder. "It's a Wolfhound, not a real wolf! He's like a really big Greyhound that has never shaved."

This is a giant dog!

Sam sat down next to me and apologized for scaring me, but he still thought it was a pretty funny joke!

I think the Sid-athon was quite successful! I met so many wonderful hounds and their humans.

I got to lounge around with a plethora of beautiful girl hounds. I learned that meeting and greeting equals lots of love and treats.

Here I am resting with the beautiful Breeze. This was a lovely way to end a lovely weekend.

Day Two of the Sid-athon: First stop, Schaumburg

Ho, ho, ho and Merry Christmas from the Schaumburg Meet & Greet, first stop on day two of the Sid-athon.

Day two started out on a bright note with Bobby Socks, and behind her is my new sidekick Romeo.

Ashley looked suspiciously familiar, kind of like a gal named Shamu that I met at the Broadview M&G. It turns out that they are sisters!

Romeo, living up to his name, made eyes at the ladies and told them to come over and talk to us.

I couldn't believe it worked! Bobby Socks came right over and whispered in my ear!

Then Scamper pushed his way right past Ashley. "Remember me?" he said. "We met yesterday at the Broadview M&G!"

"And this is my sister Hy-way." Scamper was so happy to see me. It's nice to see a familiar, friendly face when you're on the road so much.

Scamper and I continued to chat while his BIG little brother, Goliath, tried to sneak in and steal Bobby Socks' attention away from me.

Then Romeo reminded me that time was a tickin' and we still had one more stop to make on the Sid-athon.

Reluctantly I bid farewell to all my new friends as I made my way to the final stop on the Sid-athon, Arlington Heights.

The Sunburst Christmas Houndapolooza!

After the Sid-elicious Christmas M&G, it was time for the hounds to wind down and have a good time at Aunt Trina's.

Buddy and Gabby offered to help with the food, but they were politely told to go away.

Then Remi stopped by to offer his help, but Gabby told him not to bother asking.

Time for the games!

Ms. Gabby announced it was time to play musical beds.

The girls proved to be the quickest in the first round as Jessie and Gabby snagged the first two beds, and Warrior got a toy in the process too!

My poor buddy Buddy was the odd man out in the first round when the music stopped, so no bed for Buddy.

Remi, Warrior and I were the quick ones in the next round.

Conner was odd man out in round two.

There was no round three because none of us wanted to get up. After all, how can you have a Greyhound party without beds?

Tommy got bored with all of us and decided to mingle instead.

I personally relaxed and enjoyed the company of all of the wonderful hounds and their humans. Everybody loved on me all night long, and I felt like the most special greyhound in the whole world!

Finally it was time to leave, but not before I had a chance to fall asleep in Karen's arms. I could have stayed there all night!

I hope you enjoyed my pictures from day one of the Sid-athon. It was truly a spectacular weekend, and there are still more pictures to come!
Next stop: Schaumburg

Crestwood Christmas Meet & Greet

Second stop on the first day of the Sid-athon: Crestwood Petsmart

Aunt Trina made me feel like a rock star when I arrived. She was so excited to see me that she broke out the treats to celebrate!

Everybody gathered around to enjoy the yummy holiday goodies.

After everyone else got their treats, Aunt Trina let me take as many as I wanted. "Help yourself, Sweet Sid," she said!

This handsome brindle boy is named Warrior. He has a cool curly tail, and he taught me that you can just walk right up to people or on them for love.

Warrior also told me it's okay to lie down and rest for a while.

After all those yummy treats, I needed a quick siesta.

The nap was short-lived because Warrior told me to hop up and work the vest.

As soon as I got up, Warrior's dad, Tom, gave me a hug. I have to say, I really enjoy this whole meeting and greeting thing!

Two more of my fans showed up, Diego and Conner, and they rushed right over to say hello. Conner looks spectacular in his Santa coat!

Diego told Conner to back off and give me some space, but my focus was elsewhere when Delicate Jess caught my eye.

Have you ever seen a more resplendent Greyhound! Look at that Roman nose, those eyes... sigh.

Even Diego was taken with Jess.

Bailey has such beautiful, soulful eyes.

I was so happy that my buddy Buddy showed up!

And then I met Graceful Gabby, but she wasn't interested in me at first.

So I asked her, "Why the long face, Gabby?"

Gabby just laughed and said, "Oh, Sid!"

Here's Jordin looking quite lovely in her Christmas finery. She invited me to sit down next to her.

So I rested again before the next round of meeting and greeting.

Then Remi told me to get up; "We're going to a party!"

A party, for Greyhounds? Doesn't that sound wonderful!! Well, it was. More pictures to follow of the Sunburst Christmas Houndapolooza!
